About IDM
IDM gGmbH stands for Innovative Digital Medicine. It is a non-profit artificial intelligence (AI) organisation and subsidiary of the Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) in Germany that develops and deploys sovereign, clinically grounded artificial intelligence tools to improve healthcare delivery and relieve pressure on clinicians. Its vision is to make responsible, explainable and accessible AI an integral part of future healthcare by building purpose-built applications – such as the clinical large language model ARGO or the medical speech recognition system ORPHEUS – applications that are trained on real clinical data and used daily in hospitals and outpatient clinics. By owning the full AI stack from model training to clinical deployment and by keeping development, data processing, and hosting in European hands, IDM empowers healthcare professionals with tools that enhance patient care, streamline documentation, and protect data sovereignty without vendor lock-in, thereby contributing to better and more sustainable healthcare systems.
