The AF-B-STEP Kick-off Meeting took place in Amsterdam from 3-5 February 2026 and was a very productive start of our international collaboration. Starting with a warm welcome from the project coordinator, Prof. Paulus Kirchhof (UKE), the project leader, Dr. Mirko de Melis (Medtronic), and the IHI project officer, John Clifford, all consortium partners were introduced by their team leaders. The focus of all following presentations and breakout sessions was to develop a clear plan for all work packages in the first year. The Kick-off Meeting was essential for the whole AF-B-STEP consortium to meet in person, network, and connect not only on a professional, but also on a personal level. The work package leaders also discussed important scientific details and aligned their expectations for the overall goals and outcomes of AF-B-STEP.
